ABOUT ADAM
My first word was literally "ball." Growing up I played basketball every chance I could. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized how profound an effect it had on my life, and I wanted to teach the skills of the game so that kids can grow up to become not only great basketball players, but great teammates, friends, partners, and humans.
In terms of my basketball career: I played on the Scout Team for the Tulane Division 1 Women's basketball team, preparing them to play against some of the best programs in the nation like UConn.
Outside of basketball, I worked as a data analyst for the New Orleans Pelicans and a few large technology companies for about six years after university.
In the past several years I've moved into mentorship, refereeing, and coaching. At the moment I'm immersed in several different roles:
Founder of ImprovHuman, where we teach the skills of improv and mindfulness as a way to access play and groundedness in discomfort. Improvhuman.com
Mentoring teens and young adults struggling with addiction and executive function challenges with Noble Mentors
Teaching at Montessori Academy in Denver
High School Referee for CHSAA
Basketball Coach with Gold Crown
I blend all of these experiences to build a customized program for you or your child. I've refereed over 100 high school games, so I've seen over and over which kids get the majority of the minutes and what it takes to get on the floor.
I see basketball as a training ground for much of life. We can absolutely focus on skill development, and I also offer mentorship for kids struggling with social anxiety, focusing in school, and finding their way.
